Sri Guru Granth Sahib Verse

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Gauree Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

गउड़ी माझ महला ४ ॥

ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

The Lord has implanted a longing for the Lord's Name within me.

मै हरि नामै हरि बिरहु लगाई जीउ ॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

I have met the Lord God, my Best Friend, and I have found peace.

मेरा हरि प्रभु मितु मिलै सुखु पाई जीउ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

Beholding my Lord God, I live, O my mother.

हरि प्रभु देखि जीवा मेरी माई जीउ ॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

The Lord's Name is my Friend and Brother. ||1||

मेरा नामु सखा हरि भाई जीउ ॥१॥
