Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse
ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਸੈਨਹਿ ਸੂਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਇਕੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
Listening to the words of their king, all the warriors together took this decision.
बात सुनी प्रभ की सभ सैनहि सूर मिले इक मंत्र करिओ है ॥
ਜਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਠਾਟ ਇਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਧਿ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
That with firm determination in the mind, the goddess be attacked from all the four directions.
जाइ परैं चहूं ओर ते धाइ कै ठाट इहै मन मधि करिओ है ॥
ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਪਰੇ ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਦਲੁ ਇਉ ਬਿਹਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
With swords in their hands, and uttering loud shouts of “Kill, Kill”, the army of demons swarmed from all directions.
मार ही मार पुकार परे असि लै करि मै दलु इउ बिहरिओ है ॥
ਘੇਰਿ ਲਈ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਚੰਡਿ ਸੁ ਚੰਦ ਮਨੋ ਪਰਵੇਖ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੪੦॥
They all besieged Chandi from all the four sides, like the moon encircled amongst clouds.40.
