Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse
ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਸੂਰ ਸਭੇ ਉਮਡੇ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਅਖੰਡਾ ॥
The heroes like Sunbh and NiSunbh, who were invincible, flew in rage.
सु्मभ निसु्मभ ते आदिक सूर सभे उमडे करि कोप अखंडा ॥
ਕੌਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਮਾਨਨ ਬਾਨ ਕਸੇ ਕਰ ਧੋਪ ਫਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਖੰਡਾ ॥
Wearing iron coats, they girded swords, bows and arrows, and held the shields in their hands,
कौच क्रिपान कमानन बान कसे कर धोप फरी अरु खंडा ॥
ਖੰਡ ਭਏ ਜੁ ਅਖੰਡਲ ਤੇ ਨਹਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਫਿਰੇ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਨਵ ਖੰਡਾ ॥
They had conquered the nine continents, which (previously) could not be won over by the warriors of the Continents themselves.
खंड भए जु अखंडल ते नहि जीति फिरे बसुधा नव खंडा ॥
ਤੇ ਜੁਤ ਕੋਪ ਗਿਰੇਬਨਿ ਓਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕੇ ਕੀਨੇ ਕੀਏ ਕਟਿ ਖੰਡਾ ॥੨੫॥
But they could not stand to face furious goddess Kali, and fell down cut into pieces.(25)
ते जुत कोप गिरेबनि ओप क्रिपान के कीने कीए कटि खंडा ॥२५॥
