Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse
ਰਾਜੀਵ ਲੋਚਨ ਰਾਮ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਚਲੇ ਬਨ ਕੱਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਯੋ ॥
राजीव लोचन राम कुमार चले बन कउ संगि भ्राति सुहायो ॥
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਨਿਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਸਚੀਪਤ ਚੱਉਕੇ ਚਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
The lotus-eyed Ram moved alongwith his brother to the forest, on seeing this the gods were startled and the demons wondered,
देव अदेव निछ्त्र सचीपत चउक चके मन मोद बढायो ॥
ਆਨਨ ਬਿੰਬ ਪਰਯੋ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਪਰ ਫੈਲਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
आनन बि्मब परियो बसुधा पर फैलि रहियो फिरि हाथि न आयो ॥
ਬੀਚ ਅਕਾਸ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕੀਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਯੰਕ ਕਹਾਯੋ ॥੨੬੧॥
And visualizing the end of demons Indra felt highly pleased, the moon also being pleased began to spread his reflection on the earth and being a resident within the sky, he became famous with the name of “Mayank.’261.
