Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse
ਰਾਸ ਕਹੋ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਾਸ ਕਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸਾਸੁ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
“O Sita ! I am telling you the truth that you will be able to serve your mother-inlaw nicely while living in your home.
रास कहो तुहि बास करो ग्रिह सासु की सेव भली बिधि कीजै ॥
ਕਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਾਸ ਬਨੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਲੋਚਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੋਂ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਸੁਨ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
“O doe-eyed ! The time will pass away quickly, I shall rule alongwith you.
काल ही बास बनै म्रिग लोचनि राज करों तुम सो सुन लीजै ॥
ਜੌ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਜੀਯ ਅਉਧ ਸੁਭਾਨਨਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸਾਚ ਭਨੀਜੈ ॥
“If indeed, your mind does does not feel at home in Oudh, O winsome-faced ! You go to your father’s house.
जौ न लगै जीय अउध स ुभाननि जाहि पिता ग्रिह साच भनीजै ॥
ਤਾਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਗਡੀ ਜੀਯ ਜਾਤ ਸਿਧਾਤ ਬਨੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਇਸ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੨੫੦॥
“In my mind the instruction of my father abides, therefore you permit me to go to go to the forest.”250.
तात की बात गडी जीय जात सिधात बनै मुहि आइस दीजै ॥२५०॥
