Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse

ਭਏ ਦ੍ਰੋਣ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਸੈਨਪਾਲੰ ॥

The second general of Kauravas and master of their forces was Daronacharya.

भए द्रोण सैनापती सैन पालं ॥

ਭਇਓ ਘੋਰ ਜੁਧੰ ਤਹਾ ਤਉਨ ਕਾਲੰ ॥

There at that time a horrible war was waged.

भइओ घोर जु्धं तहां तउन कालं ॥

ਹਣਿਓ ਧ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਦੋਨੰ ਤਜੇ ਦ੍ਰੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ॥

Dhrishtadyumna killed Dronacharya, who breathed his last.

हणिओ ध्रिसट द्रोणं तजे द्रोण प्राणं ॥

ਕਰਿਓ ਜੁਧ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਲੋਕੰ ਪਿਆਣੰ ॥੪੫॥੨੧੩॥

Dying in the battlefield, he went to heaven.45.213.

करिओ जु्ध ते देव लोकं पिआणं ॥४५॥२१३॥
