Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Verse
ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਪਰੀਛਤਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਯੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਨ ॥
One day the King Parikshat consulted his ministers
एक दिवस परीछतहि मिलि कीयो मंत्र महान ॥
ਗਜਾਮੇਧ ਸੁ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਕਿਉ ਕੀਜੀਐ ਸਵਧਾਨ ॥
As to how the elephant sacrifice be performed methodically?
गजामेध सु ज्ग को किउ कीजीऐ सवधान ॥
ਬੋਲਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਸੁ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਨ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
The friends and the ministers who spoke gave the idea
बोलि बोलि सुमित्र मंत्रन मंत्र कीओ बिचार ॥
ਸੇਤ ਦੰਤ ਮੰਗਾਇ ਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੁਗਤ ਸੌ ਅਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੧॥੧੫੭॥
