Many of the length of eight Yojanas and very fat

Bhajaio Tachhakaan Bhachhakaan Jema Kaagaan ॥5॥173॥
Takshak, the king of snakes ran away like the crow from the falcon for fear of being eaten.5.173.

Kulaan Kotta Homai Bikhi Vahin Kuaandaan ॥
Millions of serpents of his clan were burnt in the fire-altar.

Bache Baadha Daare Ghane Kuaanda Jhuaandaan ॥
Those who were saved, were bound down and collectively thrown in the fire-pit.

Bhajaio Naaga Raajaan Takaio Eiaandar Lokaan ॥
The king of Nagas ran away and took sheleter in the world of Indra.

With the power of Vedic mantras, the Abode of Indra also began to broil and with this, Indra was in great agony.6.174.

Badhaio Maantar Jaantaraan Griio Bhooma Madhaan ॥
Bound by mantras and tantras, (Takshak) ultimately fell on the earth.

Arhiao Aasateekaan Mahaa Bipar Sidhaan ॥
At that the great adept Brahmin Aasteek resisted the orders of the king.

ਭਿੜ੍ਯੋ ਭੇੜ ਭੂਪੰ ਝਿਣ੍ਯੋ ਝੇੜ ਝਾੜੰ ॥
Bhirhaio Bherha Bhoopaan Jhinio Jherha Jhaarhaan ॥
He quarreled with the king and in the strife felt offended

ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਉਠ੍ਯੋ ਤਣੀ ਤੋੜ ਤਾੜੰ ॥੭॥੧੭੫॥
Mahaa Karodha Autthaio Tanee Torha Taarhaan ॥7॥175॥
And rose in great anger, breaking the strings of his clothes.7.175.

Tajaio Sarpa Medhaan Bhajaio Eeka Naathaan ॥
He asked the king to forsake the serpent-sacrifice and meditate on the One Lord

Kripaa Maantar Soojhai Sabai Srisatta Saajaan ॥
With whose Grace all the mantras and materials of the world come to our mind.

“O the Lion-like monarch and the treasure of learning!
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੬/੩ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਤਪੈ ਤੇਜ ਸਾਵੰਤ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਸਮਾਨੰ ॥੮॥੧੭੬॥
Tapai Teja Saavaanta Juaalaa Samaanaan ॥8॥176॥
“Thy Glory will shine like sun and blaze like fire.8.176.

ਮਹੀ ਮਾਹ ਰੂਪੰ ਤਪੈ ਤੇਜ ਭਾਨੰ ॥
Mahee Maaha Roopaan Tapai Teja Bhaanaan ॥
“Thy beauty on the earth shall be moonlike and thy splendour sunlike
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੭/੧ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਦਸੰ ਚਾਰ ਚਉਦਾਹ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਨਿਧਾਨੰ ॥
Dasaan Chaara Chaudaaha Bidiaa Nidhaanaan ॥
“Thou shall be treasure of fourteen learnings.
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੭/੨ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰਾਜ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਗ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਪਾਨੰ ॥
Sunahu Raaja Saastarga Saaraanga Paanaan ॥
“Listen, O wielder of the bow and the monarch with knowledge of the Shastras!
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੭/੩ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਤਜਹੁ ਸਰਪ ਮੇਧੰ ਦਿਜੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਦਾਨੰ ॥੯॥੧੭੭॥
Tajahu Sarpa Medhaan Dijai Mohi Daanaan ॥9॥177॥
“Bestow on me this gifts of abandoning the serpents-sacrifice.9.177.
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੭/(੪) - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਤਜਹੁ ਜੋ ਨ ਸਰਪੰ ਜਰੋ ਅਗਨ ਆਪੰ ॥
Tajahu Jo Na Sarpaan Jaro Agan Aapaan ॥
“If thou dost not abandon this gift of abandoning the serpent-sacrifice, I shall burn myself in the fire
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੮/੧ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਕਰੋ ਦਗਧ ਤੋ ਕੌ ਦਿਵੌ ਐਸ ਸ੍ਰਾਪੰ ॥
Karo Dagadha To Kou Divou Aaisa Saraapaan ॥
“Or by giving such curse I shall reduce thee to ashes
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੮/੨ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਹਣ੍ਯੋ ਪੇਟ ਮਧੰ ਛੁਰੀ ਜਮਦਾੜੰ ॥
Hanio Petta Madhaan Chhuree Jamadaarhaan ॥
“Or I shall pierce my belly with the sharp dagger
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ - ੧੭੮/੩ - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ
ਲਗੇ ਪਾਪ ਤੋ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰਾਜ ਗਾੜੰ ॥੧੦॥੧੭੮॥
Lage Paapa To Ko Sunahu Raaja Gaarhaan ॥10॥178॥
“Listen! O king ! thou shalt be causing a great sin for thyself of Brahmin-killing.”10.178.
